NIT Jamshedpur Research: The Mechanical Engineering Department of NIT Jamshedpur has focused on coal transportation by pipeline instead of rail or trucks to reduce iron ore and transportation cost and pollution.
The research leading to the PhD was conducted by Mr. Chandan Gupta under the guidance of Professor Satish Kumar. The findings of this research when implemented by steel, mining and power plant companies, can reduce the cost of steel and electricity for the common man
Professor KM Singh of IIT Roorkee, the external examiner of this PhD research work, praised the research work and recommended the award of PhD to Chandan Gupta.
Professor Sanjay, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department of NIT Jamshedpur, highlighted the fact that the findings of this research when adopted by steel and power companies like Tata Steel and NTPC, can reduce the cost of living for the common man and reduce electricity bills.
Prof. Gautam Sutradhar said that NIT Jamshedpur will continue to carry out research that will improve the lives of mankind.
