Prof. SP Singh Baghel Welcomes and Honors Ghazal Khan for Her Remarkable Contributions to Indian Divyang Cricket and Empowerment Initiatives

Agra : In a special ceremony at his residence in Agra, Indian politician and Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Prof. SP Singh Baghel, welcomed and honored Ghazal Khan, CEO of the Divyang Cricket Control Board of India (DCCBI). Prof. Baghel commended Ghazal Khan on her remarkable dec”de-long service with DCCBI and her successful completion of 3 years as Vice Chairperson of the International Council of Wheelchair Cricket.

Prof. Baghel praised Ghazal Khan’s visionary leadership, under which the Indian Divyang Cricket team has played 124 international matches, achieving 100 victories, including winning the first-ever Asia Cup in 2015 and securing a runners-up position in the Asia Cup 2019.

Ghazal Khan was accompanied by Koteshwar Naik, an Indian Wheelchair Cricket team player from Hyderabad, who was also recognized by Prof. Baghel for his exceptional performance in the Wheelchair Cricket Asia Cup 2023 held in Nepal, where he scored a century against Pakistan.

Prof. Baghel also appreciated Ghazal Khan’s initiative to empower differently-abled individuals through the establishment of a merchandise manufacturing unit in Agra. In a significant gesture of support, he assured that the assignment for manufacturing T-shirts for the Sansad Khel Spardha would be awarded to this unit, further promoting the employment and empowerment of differently-abled individuals.

Prof. SP Singh Baghel’s recognition and support underscore the importance of inclusivity and empowerment in sports and beyond, reaffirming a commitment to elevating Indian Divyang Cricket on both national and global stages.
