XLRI Hosts Inaugural Convocation Ceremony for PGDM HRM Program

Jamshedpur: XLRI Jamshedpur celebrated a significant milestone as it conducted the first Convocation Ceremony of its PGDM (HRM) Program for Emerging CHROs on April 15, 2024, at the Tata Auditorium, XLRI Jamshedpur Campus. The event welcomed Ms. Anuradha Razdan, Executive Director HR & CHRO of Hindustan Unilever & Unilever South Asia, as the esteemed Chief Guest.

A total of 38 students were conferred with their postgraduate diploma degrees during the ceremony, with Mr. Varun Sevva Reddy receiving the prestigious XLRI Medal for Academic Excellence.

Ms. Anuradha Razdan commended XLRI for pioneering the program and congratulated the graduating students for their dedication. She highlighted the diverse backgrounds of the graduating batch, representing 16 different industries and boasting a collective experience of 653 years.

Addressing the graduates, Ms. Razdan emphasized the pivotal role of HRM in driving transformation in organizations. She urged the emerging CHROs to focus on fostering growth, balancing long-term strategies with short-term agility, and transitioning from a service-oriented to a strategic role within their organizations. Furthermore, she emphasized the importance of maintaining human connections, being conscious custodians, and embracing the responsibility of shaping organizational culture.

Fr. S George S.J., Director of XLRI Jamshedpur, encouraged the graduates to remain vigilant, questioning, and rationale in their pursuits. He emphasized the significance of challenging norms and standing up against injustices to uphold humanity.

The Convocation Ceremony also marked the strategic partnership between XLRI and LeadUp Universe, the program’s Strategic Partner for Emerging CHROs. Mr. Mayank Verma, Co-Founder & CEO of LeadUp Universe, expressed his delight at the program’s success and its resonance within the HR community.

Dr. R K Premarajan, Program Director of the PGDM (HRM) Program, extended his gratitude to all involved in making the program a success.

The PGDM HRM Program for Emerging CHROs, recognized by AICTE, is an 18-month postgraduate diploma program tailored for mid-senior HR professionals with a minimum of 10 years of experience. The program combines virtual learning modules, on-campus residencies, live webinars, and self-paced online coursework to cater to diverse learning preferences. Led by a team of esteemed faculty members and industry experts, the program ensures practical relevance through guest lectures, mentoring programs, and a Capstone Project focused on real-world challenges.
