NIT Jamshedpur Empowers Women Entrepreneurs in Workshop

NIT Jamshedpur: Today, the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Research and Consultancy at NIT Jamshedpur successfully hosted a one-day workshop focused on “Prospective Ecosystem of Women Entrepreneurship and Start-ups.” This event, held under the esteemed leadership and guidance of Prof. Goutam Sutradhar, Director of NIT Jamshedpur, aimed to promote and empower women in entrepreneurship and startup ventures.

The inaugural ceremony of the program was graced by the presence of Prof. Pankaj Rai, Director of BIT Sindri, who served as the Chief Guest. In his address, Prof. Rai emphasized the pivotal role of women entrepreneurs in national development

Adding to the event’s significance, Prof. D. P. Dash, Former General Manager of Indian Railways, joined as the guest of honor and highlighted the competencies of women in the entrepreneurship domain.

During the inaugural session, Prof. Goutam Sutradhar reiterated the importance of women’s participation in various sectors such as science, technology, education, and the workforce.

The workshop proceeded with insightful lectures from distinguished speakers: NIT Jamshedpur

  • Dr. Sohini Banerjee, Associate Professor at IISWBM, Kolkata, emphasized women’s contributions to Atmanirbhar Bharat through entrepreneurship.
  • Shri Joseph Paul Arackalan, General Manager of the Incubation Center at IIT Patna, shed light on the role of entrepreneurship development and incubation for women.
  • Smt. Priya R Ranjan, Founder and Director of Sunshine Wellness, shared her experiences and challenges in fostering an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Dr. Avanjali Satapathy, Development Consultant at ADAR, discussed the crucial aspects of mental wellness, professionalism, and ethics for a successful entrepreneurial journey.

A significant milestone was achieved as an MoU was signed between NIT Jamshedpur and OP Jindal University, Raigarh, fostering collaboration and growth opportunities in the entrepreneurial landscape.

The workshop witnessed participation from esteemed institutions including Al Kabir Polytechnic, Azman University, Maryland Institute of Engineering & Management, Government Women’s Polytechnic College, B.A. College of Engineering, ICFAI University Ranchi, Arka Jain University, RVS College of Engineering, Srinath University, BITSindri, Ohm Janki Biotech, and Abhilekh Verma Consultancy.

The following heads of the near by academic institues were the distinguished guest of the workshop. Dr. Sri Kant Prasad, Principal, Government Polytechnic Adityapur, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, Principal, RVS College of Engineering, Dr. Rekha Chaudhary, Principal, Maryland institute of technology and management, Mr. Waris Sarwar Imam, Principal, Principal, Al-Kabir Polytechnic.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell : Additionally

The organizing committee of the Entrepreneurship Development Cell, comprising Prof. M. K. Sinha (Chairman), Dr. Sunil kumar Murmu, Dr. Rashmi Sinha, Dr. Madhu Singh, Dr. Shwati Sudha, and Dr. Ashok Mandal (Convener), played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of this impactful event.

The workshop commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Shwati Sudha and concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ashok Mandal, encapsulating the spirit of collaboration and empowerment driving the event.

Prof. Tilok Nath Singh, Director, IIT Patna who is also a distinguished BOG member of NIT Jamshedpur was invited for his guidance on research and Development. Prof. Singh interacted with heads and deans on Tuesday and gave valuable suggestions towards improvement. NIT Jamshedpur signed an MoU with IIT Patna for collaboration in research and entrepreneurship development. The students and faculty members of NIT Jamshedpur will get the opportunity to participate in the exchange programs of IIT Patna through this MoU.
