Jamshedpur: Tata Steel celebrated worldsteel day for Safety & Health as a day of safety related action, engagement and communication. To emphasize the commitment for creating a safe work environment for everyone, Tata Steel has taken this opportunity to promote awareness and adherence to life-saving rules through meetings at shopfloor, social media communication and organizing safety awareness sessions for its employees.
Road Safety being a critical part of the Life Saving Rules, Tata Steel organised a webinar on “Excellence in Road Safety” theme to mark the occasion. The webinar session was attended online by Tata Steel employees across locations.
Neeraj Kumar Sinha, Chief Safety, Tata Steel briefed about how Tata Steel is prioritizing safety and health and spreading the knowledge of safety among its stakeholders, during his welcome address. He also explained how Tata Steel has formulated various Life Saving rules and driving them across its operating units.

Rama Shankar Pandey, a Social Defence Fellow under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India and Ex-CEO, Tata Green Batteries (TGY), Ex-MD, Hella India Lighting Ltd (HIL) considered a stalwart in road safety, delivered keynote lecture. He emphasized on importance of 4 ‘E’s, Education, Engineering, Enforcement & Emergency Controls while talking about Road Safety. He enlightened the audience about various Government of India initiatives and digital initiatives in parlance of road safety. He also answered the queries to the questions of the attendees.
