Lions Club of Jamshedpur Femina Tackles E-Waste!

Jamshedpur, 12th June, 2024: In an effort to promote a greener future, the Lions Club of Jamshedpur Femina, in collaboration with Hulladek, organized an awareness session on e-waste management at BPM High School, Burma Mines. This initiative highlights the growing concern for responsible disposal of electronic waste in our tech-driven world.

Educating the Future:

The session aimed to educate students and teachers about the environmental impact of improperly discarded electronics and the importance of proper disposal methods. Participants gained valuable insights into the benefits and risks associated with e-waste, emphasizing the need for responsible electronic waste management.

Taking Action:

Moving beyond awareness, a permanent e-waste bin was installed on the school premises. This bin provides a convenient and responsible way for students, teachers, and staff to dispose of their used electronics, ensuring proper collection and recycling. The bin’s inauguration was marked by a symbolic gesture from the school authorities, with Principal Ranjita Gandhi and several teachers ceremoniously depositing e-waste, officially launching its use.

Leading by Example:

“By incorporating these practices into our daily lives, we are not only preserving our environment but also setting an example for future generations,” says MJF Lion Suchitra Rungta, President of the Lions Club of Jamshedpur Femina (2023-2024). This initiative by the Lions Club and the school demonstrates a commitment to environmental responsibility and paves the way for a cleaner, greener future.
