Jamshedpur: The Johar Haat, a celebrated initiative by the Tata Steel Foundation, launched its May 2024 edition today at Prakriti Vihar in Kadma, Jamshedpur.
This month, Johar Haat embraces the theme “Handicraft Meadow,” transforming the venue into a vibrant marketplace that honors artisanal craftsmanship. Surrounded by lush greenery, visitors can explore an extensive collection of handmade treasures, from intricate cane crafts to elegant dry flower home décor. The event offers a unique opportunity to delve into the creativity of local artisans and discover pieces that blend tradition with innovation.
Whether searching for the perfect gift or indulging in retail therapy, attendees are invited to experience the beauty of handmade artistry in this picturesque setting.
This edition features participants from two states, Jharkhand and Meghalaya, representing seven tribes: Kharwar, Kashi, Ho, Jaintia, Bhumij, Munda, and Santhal, with a total of 21 participants.
In addition to the marketplace, this cycle includes interactive workshops on cane craft making and jute craft key-chain creation. The tribal cuisine segment this month focuses on summer delicacies designed to help “beat the heat.”
