Comprehensive Six-Day Online FDP on EV Technology Successfully Concludes at NIT Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur : A six-day high-end Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Electric Vehicle & Charging Station Technology for Sustainable Development”, funded by AICTE-ATAL, successfully concluded at the Department of Electrical Engineering, NIT Jamshedpur. The program, held from 13th January 2025 to 18th January 2025, aimed to explore cutting-edge technologies and research opportunities in electric vehicle (EV) power processing and charging infrastructure.

Inaugural Ceremony:
The inaugural ceremony took place on 13th January 2025 at 7:30 PM in the Electrical Engineering Department. The event was graced by the Honourable Chief Guest, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, alongside Prof. Goutam Sutradhar (Director, NIT Jamshedpur), Prof. M.K. Sinha (Dean, Research and Consultancy), and Dr. Madhu Singh (Head of the Electrical Engineering Department). The program coordinators, Dr. Mrinal Kanti Sarkar and other faculty members, were also present to kick off the event.

Highlights of the Program:
The FDP featured 13 technical sessions, along with a dedicated questionnaire and feedback session. These sessions offered in-depth insights into the various aspects of EV technology, including charging techniques, power transfer methods, policymaking frameworks, and renewable energy-based charging infrastructure. Renowned resource persons from around the world shared their expertise during the program.

The primary objective of the FDP was to provide participants with a fresh perspective on cutting-edge research in EV technologies, focusing on grid-compatible charging infrastructure and sustainable energy solutions.

Valedictory Ceremony:
The valedictory ceremony was held on 18th January 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Electrical Engineering Department. The ceremony was graced by the Honourable Chief Guest, Prof. Pradip Kumar Sadhu from IIT (ISM), Dhanbad, alongside Prof. Goutam Sutradhar (Director, NIT Jamshedpur), Prof. M.K. Sinha, Dr. Madhu Singh, and the program coordinators.

This program successfully provided a platform for knowledge exchange, enhancing the participants’ understanding of EV technologies and inspiring future research in the field.
